The 2010 TISCA All-State Team has been published and sixteen Plano Senior High School Swim Team athletes have been recognized in 33 events.

On the Men's team all three Plano relay teams were recognized: the Men's 400 Free Relay (Paul Leonhardt, Mitchell Foster, Seth Russell, and Seth Stubblefield), the Men's 200 Free Relay (Paul Leonhardt, Mitchell Foster, Edward Hunt and Seth Russell) and the Men's 200 Medley Relay (Edward Hunt, Will Licon, Seth Stubblefield, and Mitchell Foster). Named for individual events were Paul Leonhardt (200 Free, 50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Fly and 100 Back), Seth Stubblefield (100 Fly, 50 Free and 100 Free), Will Licon (200 IM and 100 Breast), Seth Russell (200 Free), Edward Hunt (200 IM and 100 Back) and Jason Wan (100 Back).

On the Women's team all three Plano relay teams also were recognized: the Women's 200 Free Relay (Marissa Konicke, Natalie Sanchez, Shirley Wang, and Deanna Marks), the Women's 200 Medley Relay (Shirley Wang, Natalie Sanchez, Dayna Gettel and Alyssa Stubblefield), and the Women's 400 Free Relay (Deanna Marks, Shirley Wang, Shannon Rogers, and Marissa Konicke). Named for individual events were Dayna Gettel (100 Fly and 200 IM), Deanna Marks (100 Fly and 200 IM), Marissa Konicke (50 Free and 100 Free), Shirley Wang (100 Back and 200 IM), Shannon Rogers (100 Fly and 500 Free), Natalie Sanchez (100 Breast), Melissa Leonhardt (100 Back), and Steli Flores (100 Back).

Both the Plano Senior High School Men's and Women's teams placed 4th at the Texas High School State - 5A Championships on February 26th - 27th in Austin.

Two new Plano High School records were set in the competition. The Men's 400 Freestyle Relay (Paul Leonhardt, Mitchell Foster, Seth Russell and Seth Stubblefield) won the event and broke the school record that had stood since 1992 with a time of 3:02.37, an All-America Automatic qualifying time and the fastest time ever in the event in the state meet history. The Men's 200 Medley Relay (Edward Hunt, William Licon, Seth Stubblefield and Mitchell Foster) placed third in their event with an All-America Automatic qualifying and new school record time of 1:33.33 breaking the previous school mark set in 1991.

In other relay action, the Women's 200 Freestyle Relay (Marissa Konicke, Natalie Sanchez, Melissa Leonhardt, and Deanna Marks) placed second in their event with an All-America Automatic Qualifying time of 1:37.15. The Men's 200 Freestyle Relay ( Paul Leonhardt, Mitchell Foster, Edward Hunt, and Seth Russell) placed third in that event with an All-America Automatic qualifying time of 1:24.71 and the Women's 400 Freestyle Relay (Deanna Marks, Shirley Wang, Shannon Rogers, and Marissa Konicke) placed fifth with an All-America Automatic qualifying time of 3:30.53. All five of the Plano Senior High School relay teams swam times making the list of the 50 fastest swims in state meet history for their respective events.

In individual competition, Plano Senior High School had six swimmers place in the Championship finals in nine events all achieving All-America Automatic qualifying times: Seth Stubblefield (2nd-Men's 100 Fly-48.52, 3rd-Men's 50 Free-20.39), Paul Leonhardt (3rd-Men's 200 Free-1:38.71, 3rd-Men's 100 Fly-49.04), Will Licon (3rd-Men's 200 IM-1:49.66, 3rd-Men's 100 Breast-56.38), Dayna Gettel (6th-Women's 100 Fly-55.66), Deanna Marks (7th-Women's 100 Fly-55.95p) and Shirley Wang (7th-Women's 100 Back-55.77p). All nine of these swims earned positions in the All Time Top 50 State Meet Times. An additional three Plano swimmers had four swims placing in the consolation finals with three All-America consideration times: Marissa Konicke (10th-Women's 50 Free-23.98, 12th-Women's 100 Free-52.88), Natalie Sanchez (10th-Women's 100 Breast-1:05.85p) and Shannon Rogers (11th-Women's 100 Fly-57.32).

In a marathon, double round of Preliminary and Finals competition, spanning over fourteen hours on Monday, February 15th, the Plano Senior High School Men's and Women's teams both placed 2nd at the Region II - 5A Championships at the Mansfield ISD pool. The original two day competition had been scheduled to run on Friday and Saturday but was delayed by the weather conditions in the North Texas area.

Region II - 5A champions, in individual competition from Plano Senior High School, are Paul Leonhardt (Men's 200 Freestyle - 1:39.79, Men's 100 Fly - 49.39), Will Licon (Men's 200 IM - 1:52.25, Men's 100 Breaststroke - 58.08), Marissa Konicke (Women's 50 Freestyle - 23.74, Women's 100 Freestyle - 52.46), Seth Stubblefield (Men's 50 Freestyle - 20.80), and Dayna Gettel (Women's 100 Butterfly - 55.80), with seven of the wins qualifying for All-America Automatic recognition.

Other individual swims achieving All-America Automatic times were Seth Stubblefield (2nd - Men's 100 Butterfly - 49.62, Men's 100 Freestyle - 45.90r), Deanna Marks (2nd- Women's 100 Fly - 56.37), Shirley Wang (2nd - Women's 100 Backstroke - 56.71) and Paul Leonhardt (Men's 50 Freestyle - 21.06r). Achieving All-America Consideration times in individual swims were Seth Russell (5th - Men's 200 Freestyle - 1:42.83), Shannon Rogers (3rd - Women's 100 Fly - 57.16, 3rd - Women's 500 Free - 5:01.07), Melissa Leonhardt (5th - Women's 100 Backstoke - 58.16), and Natalie Sanchez (4th - Women's 100 Breaststroke - 1:05.58p).

Other top performances in the championship finals included Melissa Leonhardt (6th - Women's 200 Frestyle), Dayna Gettel (2nd - Women's 200 IM), Deanna Marks (3rd - Women's 200 IM), Shirley Wang (8th - Women's 200 IM), Edward Hunt (5th - Men's 200 IM, 3rd - Men's 100 Backstroke), Natalie Sanchez (5th - Women's 50 Freestyle), Mitchell Foster (3rd - Men's 100 Freestyle), Seth Russell (5th - Men's 100 Freestyle), Maureen Hunt (7th - Women's 500 Freestyle), Jason Wan (4th - Men's 100 Backstroke) and David Kim (6th - Men's 100 Breaststoke).

Contributing additional vital points to the overall team effort from the consolation finals were Maureen Hunt (12th - Women's 200 Freestyle), Mitchell Foster (9th - Men's 50 Freestyle), Brandon Edmondson (15th - Men's Diving), Ashley Ezell (10th - Women's 100 Fly, 12th - Women's 500 Freestyle), David Kim (10th - Men's 100 Fly), Lexi Farrar (13th - Women's 100 Freestyle), Jason Wan (10th - Men's 100 Freestyle), Alex Rejaee (12th - Men's 500 Freestyle), Steli Flores (9th - Women's 100 Backstroke).

In Relay competition, the Plano Senior High School Men's relay teams are Region II-5A champions in two of the three relay events and were 2nd in the third relay, advancing all three to State. The three men's relay teams consisted of the Men's 200 Medley Relay team (Jason Wan, Will Licon, Seth Stubblefield, and Mitchell Foster) - 1st in 1:35.82 (All-America Automatic qualifying time), the 200 Free Relay team (Paul Leonhardt, Mitchell Foster, Nathan Chui and Seth Russell) - 2nd in 1:26.66 (All-America Automatic qualifying time) and the 400 Free Relay team (Seth Stubblefield, Seth Russell, Edward Hunt, and Paul Leonhardt) - 1st in 3:06.72 (All-America Automatic qualifying time). All three of the Plano Senior High School Women's relay teams swam All-America Automatic qualifying times and advanced to State with first or second place finishes. The Women's 200 Medley Relay team (Shirley Wang, Natalie Sanchez, Dayna Gettel and Alyssa Stubblefield) was second with a time of 1:46.37. The Women's 200 Freestyle Relay team (Marissa Konicke, Natalie Sanchez, Lexi Farrar, and Deanna Marks) placed second with a time of 1:37.38. The Women's 400 Freestyle Relay team (Deanna Marks, Shirley Wang, Shannon Rogers, and Marissa Konicke) took the win and is Region II-5A champion with a time of 3:31.18.

Qualifying for the Texas High School State Championships to be swum in two weeks are: Paul Leonhardt (200 Free, 100 Fly), Will Licon (200 IM, 100 Breast), Seth Stubblefield (50 Free, 100 Fly), Marissa Konicke (50 Free, 100 Free), Dayna Gettel (100 Fly), Deanna Marks (100 Fly), Shannon Rogers (100 Fly), Shirley Wang (100 Back), Natalie Sanchez (100 Breast), the Women's 200 Medley Relay, the Men's 200 Medley Relay, the Women's 200 Free Relay, the Men's 200 Free Relay, the Women's 400 Free Relay and the Men's 400 Free Relay.

The Plano Senior High School Men's and Women's teams both placed 1st at the 2010 District 8 - 5A Championships held on January 28th (Diving) & January 30th (Swimming).

In the swimming on Saturday, the Women's 200 Medley Relay team (Shirley Wang, Natalie Sanchez, Dayna Gettel and Alyssa Stubblefield) started off the meet with a win and the Women's Team as a whole went on from there to win all of the individual swimming events and then concluded with a victory by the Women's 400 Freestyle Relay team (Melissa Leonhardt, Marissa Konicke, Shirley Wang and Shannon Rogers). The Individual event winners for the Women were Shirley Wang (200 IM, 100 Backstroke), Marissa Konicke (50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle), Melissa Leonhardt (200 Freestyle) , Dayna Gettel (100 Butterfly), Shannon Rogers (500 Freestyle), and Natalie Sanchez (100 Breastroke). The Women's 200 Freestyle Relay (Lexi Farrar, Natalie Sanchez, Alyssa Stubblefield and Marissa Konicke) placed third in that event.

The Plano Senior High School Men's Team won two of their three relay events and seven of the eight individual swimming events. The Men's 200 Freestyle Relay team (Jason Wan, Nathan Chui, Mitchell Foster, and Seth Russell) and the Men's 400 Freestyle Relay team (David Kim, Seth Russell, Edward Hunt, and Jason Wan) both won their events. The Men's 200 Medley Relay team (Edward Hunt, Will Licon, David Kim, and Mitchell Foster) placed second in a very close finish in that event. For the Men, the individual event winners were Paul Leonhardt (200 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly), Will Licon (200 IM, 100 Breaststroke), Seth Stubblefield (50 Freestyle), Seth Russell (100 Freestyle) and Edward Hunt (100 Backstroke).

Qualifying for Regionals were all six of the relay teams, and individual competitors Melissa Leonhardt (200 Free, 100 Back), Maureen Hunt (200 Free, 500 Free), Paul Leonhardt (200 Free, 100 Fly), Seth Russell (100 Free, 200 Free), Shirley Wang (200 IM, 100 Back), Dayna Gettel (200 IM, 100 Fly), Deanna Marks (200 IM, 100 Fly), Will Licon (200 IM, 100 Breast), Edward Hunt (200 IM, 100 Back), Marissa Konicke (50 Free, 100 Free), Natalie Sanchez (50 Free, 100 Breast), Seth Stubblefield (50 Free, 100 Fly), Mitchell Foster (50 Free, 100 Free), Shannon Rogers (100 Fly, 500 Free), Ashley Ezell (100 Fly, 500 Free), David Kim (100 Fly, 100 Breast), Jason Wan (100 Free, 100 Back), Nathan Chui (50 Free), Brandon Edmondson (Diving), Lexi Farrar (100 Free), Alex Rejaee (500 Free), and Steli Flores (100 Back).

Shirley Wang was honored as District 8 Women's Swimmer of the Year. Seth Stubblefield was named District 8 Men's Swimmer of the Year. Coach Wiggins received District 8 Coach of the Year recognition.

The Plano Senior High School Men's team placed 1st at North Zone TISCA on Saturday. The Plano Senior High School Women's team placed 2nd. For combined team scores, Plano Senior High was 1st.

Both the Men and Women won all three of their Relay events. For the Men, the 400 Freestyle Relay (Seth Stubblefield, Paul Leonhardt, Seth Russell, and Mitchell Foster) and the 200 Medley Relay (Jason Wan, Will Licon, Seth Stubblefield and Seth Russell) won those events with All-America Automatic qualifying times of 3:06.61 and 1:36.77 respectively. For the Women, the 200 Medley Relay (Shirley Wang, Natalie Sanchez, Dayna Gettel, and Alyssa Stubblefield) won the event with an All-America Automatic qualifying time of 1:47.01. The Men's 200 Freestyle Relay (Mitchell Foster, Jason Wan, Edward Hunt, and Paul Leonhardt) at 1:26.99, the Women's 200 Freestyle Relay (Marissa Konicke, Natalie Sanchez, Alyssa Stubblefield and Deanna Marks) at 1:39.22 and the Women's 400 Freestyle Relay (Deanna Marks, Shirley Wang, Shannon Rogers and Marissa Konicke) at 3:34.12 each won those events with All-America Consideration times.

Winning individual events were Paul Leonhardt (Men's 100 Butterfly - 48.73 and 100 Backstroke - 51.41), Seth Stubblefield (Men's 50 Free - 21.01), Will Licon (Men's 100 Breastroke - 58.27), and Dayna Gettel (Women's 100 Butterfly - 55.68) all with All-America Automatic qualifying times.

Additional All-America Automatic qualifiers were Shirley Wang (Women's 100 Backstroke - 56.58), Natalie Sanchez (Women's 100 Breaststroke - 1:04.87), Deanna Marks (Women's 100 Butterfly - 56.15 and Seth Stubblefield (Men's 100 Butterfly - 49.91 and 100 Freestyle - 46.19).

Also achieving All-America consideration times were Marissa Konicke (Women's 50 Freestyle - 23.98), Dayna Gettel (Women's 200 Individual Medley - 2:05.97), Deanna Marks (Women's 200 Individual Medley - 2:06.21), Seth Russell (Men's 200 Freestyle - 1:42.42), and Will Licon (Men's 200 Individual Medley - 1:55.14).

Other top performances in the championship finals included Shirley Wang (6th - Women's 200 Individual Medley), Edward Hunt (4th - Men's 200 Individual Medley), Mitchell Foster (2nd - Men's 50 Freestyle and 4th - 100 Freestyle), Shannon Rogers (5th - Women's 100 Butterfly and 2nd - 500 Freestyle), Steli Flores (6th - Women's 100 Butterfly and 4th - 100 Backstroke), Seth Russell (2nd - Men's 100 Freestyle), and Jason Wan (3rd - Men's 100 Backstroke). The second Men's 400 Freestyle Relay (Jason Wan, David Kim, Alex Rejaee and Will Licon) and the second Men's 200 Medley Relay (Edward Hunt, Trevor Lincoln, Chris Aselton and Nathan Chui) each placed 7th in their respective events.
